- 6 days ago by megraeb I’m so glad I know this kid, he’s amazing. We’ve been working over the past few years on building him a little cow herd. He raises our bottle calves into cows. By the time he’s old enough for 4-H he’s going to have his own show string completely raised on his own. Probably have enough money from it for college or trade school. I’m impressed by him, his work ethic and responsibility, every time I talk to him. I’m honored to know him. #futurerancher #IDontWorkThatHard #futureisbright

- 6 days ago by megraeb I just helped my Dad perform an emergency c section on the broken shoulder cow. The calf lived. It’s a little heifer. I’m thawing colostrum for her, I put triadine on her naval. Our 6 year old neighbor will be tasked with her care after today. He is starting his own 4-H herd for when he’s old enough, I believe this is his 6th animal. #circleoflife #IHaveAllTheFluidsOnMe #SadButHappy

So now when she thinks I’ve missed seeing a baby she jumps out of the Polaris, runs to the calf and points until I see it. She’s an incredible dog, this one. #cowdog #kelpie #bestfriend
- 1 week ago by megraeb I was kinda hesitant to talk about this, but one of my big talking points is transparency and since @jeniferfl3ming brought it up on my last post, I need to. This second calf heifer, has a broken shoulder. We don’t know how it happened, she’s also about a week away from giving birth. She needs to be euthanized because this is not something we can fix. Since the birth of her calf is so close, we wanted to wait and at least try to save the calf. We’ve left her alone, given her access to water and hay. Of course
This is ridiculous. Was it the biggest by a long ways, or were there other monsters in there?
